Pauline McQuoid

Pauline is a clinical pharmacist, pharmacist prescriber and director of Medwise. Pauline has an extensive hospital pharmacy background including 3 years as Pharmacy Manager of Wellington, Kenepuru and Porirua Hospitals and 3 years as an electronic prescribing pharmacist in a large United Kingdom (UK) NHS Hospital Trust. In the UK, Pauline completed a Professional Certificate in Supplementary Prescribing from Liverpool University which authorised her to prescribe medicines in collaboration with medical colleagues in her area of clinical practice. Pauline has put all of this experience into practice in primary care and across the primary-secondary care interface.
She was awarded Primary Healthcare Pharmacist of the Year 2020.
In 2021, Pauline was named as a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, for her outstanding and significant contribution to the advancement of pharmacy practice in New Zealand.

Carolyn Woolerton

Carolyn is a clinical pharmacist, pharmacist prescriber and a director of Medwise.
Carolyn was part of the first cohort of pharmacist prescribers in New Zealand.
After starting out in community pharmacy, Carolyn moved to work in hospital settings, then into primary care as a pharmacist facilitator where she worked on pharmaceutical services quality initiatives, providing clinical information on medications for general practice populations to improve the use of medicines. This expanded to include clinical medication reviews for people to ensure the best medicine combinations are prescribed, and helping people to get the most out of those medicines.

Deryn Brown

Deryn is a clinical pharmacist who has worked in different areas of pharmacy practice in both New Zealand and the UK, including in hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, pharmacy education and assessment, as well as providing medicines information for a pharmaceutical company. Deryn is particularly interested in optimizing medication use, particularly for older adults, and finding ways to improve medication adherence to help people take their medicines correctly.

Jo Marshall

Jo is a clinical pharmacist with an extensive background in hospital pharmacy in both NZ and the UK. She has experience in a wide range of clinical areas including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology in large London teaching hospitals, as well as general medical and surgical in other hospitals in the UK and NZ. In her time working in hospital pharmacy, Jo has undertaken many roles and responsibilities.

Rachel Gray

Rachel is a clinical pharmacist with over 9 years experience in New Zealand hospital pharmacy, as well as experience working in the community in the UK. She has spent time in Australia working for NPS MedicineWise developing evidence-based interventions to support quality use of medicines, particularly around judicious use of antibiotics and direct-acting antivirals for Hepatitis C.

Kate Lloyd

Kate is a clinical pharmacist with experience in both community pharmacy and secondary care. She has worked in hospital clinic environments, preparing medication guides and standard operating procedures for hospital staff. She has also fulfilled clinical ward duties in hospitals and dispensary duties in community pharmacies.
